The past several weeks I've been suffering from Mono and I can tell you, it doesn't get much worse than this (outside of a major illness). The week before Christmas I came down with a wicked fever that persistently stayed between 101° and 104°F. This fever lasted a total of two weeks and caused me great pain. I'm referring to waking up several times a night sweats and constantly feeling run down.
After a couple of this fever I want to doctor who diagnosed me with Mono, but unfortunately there was nothing he could do for the fever. That was up to me to fight with over the counter drugs, which worked, but only as temporary relief.
One day in the second week I was really feeling beat down. I went to an urgent care clinic where they gave me a shot of steroids. A first I felt nothing, but after a couple hours I felt like a major league baseball player. I don't know if it was the cream or the clear, but man, did it work like a charm! As it occurs to me now, my name may be in the Mitchell report after all this.
The steroids did their job and put be back on my feet. All the sudden my fever broke and outside of the 1-2 naps a day, I felt great. That's where I am now. Napping and recovering. Talking with friends they say I'm not out of the woods yet, seems like a have another month or two before I'm not tired anymore. But who knows, with another steroids shot I may run a marathon. What do you think of that Canseco?
