The article written by Mike Cason appeared in today?s Montgomery Advisor and quoted track owner Milton McGregor that he hopes to use up to 35,000 square feet of his VictoryLand facility for bingo. As also dually pointed out by a prominent opposition leader, with the new amendment, Victoryland stands to become a full-scale, and maybe even full-time, casino.
We can expect to see the new machines in play within six months. The article also pointed out this statistic that since VictoryLand opened in 1984, $2.5 billion has been bet at the track, of which the track has paid $126.5 million in taxes during that time. I love the jackass from the Christian Coalition that calls it a full-scale casino, what a dumbass, the reason it "ISN'T" a casino and thus legal in Alabama is that there is no house, we're just taking each others money. What a propaghanda running jackass. Bingo has been legal in the state since the early 1970's. There are currently 13 counties that have "legalized" bingo, meaning that a "bingo" bill was passed by legislation. Although, having been involved in the bingo business, for many many yers, I can tell you that bingo goes on throughout the state. There are easily 100 or more bingo halls playing bingo on aregular basis, but just not on the scale as the commercial operations found in Mobile, Montgomery and Birmingham. Its all about corruption and greed. Take Lee County for instance. To quote the D.A. of Lee county " There never has been and never will be any type of bingo halls in Lee County" ( being said with that huge jackass grin that he has). Now, if you wanted to play bingo in Lee County, all that you would have to do is go to the American Legion in Opelika or the Moose/ Elks Lodge in Auburn. The play bingo on a regular basisi, and the Moose/Elks Lodge even has a program quite similar to that of a commercial bingo hall. These bingo games are played on a regular basis, with modern equipment, with a cash buy-in and cash prizes. But to quote the jackass D.A. again " There never has been and never will be any type of bingo halls in Lee County". Now, I am not positive, but I would imagine if you looked close enough, the D.A. or the county Sheriff will be involved with one of these two organizations. OK, the whole Lee County thing rubbed me the wrong way, so lets talk about VictoryLand.
Bingo is Bingo, and it can be a very good thing for bonified charities (thats the loophole that you use to get it legalized). Here is how it works in the commercial bingo world. A company, partnership or person leases an empty building. The building is then set up to run a session of bingo; chairs, tables, bingo machines....the whole nine yards. This building is then leased out to bonified 501c charities on a per session basis, with a typical bingo session lasting from 1.5 to 2 hours. When the bingo session is played, the money is tallied up. The owner of the bingo hall takes the rent from the money taken in that day...typicaly $500-$600 for a daytime session and $1000-$1500 for a night time session. What ever is left over goes to the charities. Its is an easy way for someone to get rich (or go broke) and it is an easy way for a charity to make an ass-load of money! Many good things have come from bingo halls, just take a look at the Volunteer Fire Departments in Montgomery County. Many of these Volunteer Fire Departments are nicer than those in small towns. Ok, I getting to VictoryLand and ol crooked Milton.
Here is where money can buy you anything that you want. Take a look at all of the bills for bingo that have ever been passed for the state. They are almost identical. The amount of money that can be given away is the same, the charities all have to be bonified....etc, etc. Well, here goes good ol Milton. He can give away what ever in the Hell he wants to??????? What the hell is that all about. He has taken bingo to a whole new level. These bingo machines are an absolute JOKE. I have personaly seen these machines in South Florida (at an Indian Casino) and all that they are are the same video poker machines that cused the big stink in Alabama lately. They have some silly- ass bingo type of game on them and he got them passed for electronic bingo. WHAT THE HELL.......The type of bingo that is about to be established in Macon and Green Counties has ample, ample room for corruption. It is similar to the bingo run by the Poarch Creek Indians, and just look at what it has done for them. They rake in millions and millions of dollars every year, but look at the reservation in Atmore. These people live in poverty. Now, where would the money be going.....hhhmmm.....lets seeee........maybe to Cheif Little Big Toes'??? new jet......or maybe to one of his new Vacation homes. That might be a safe bet. Well look who else has a vacation home(s) and a couple of $10 million dollar jets....good ol Milton. Maybe he learned it from Little Big Toe.? Here is the bottom line. The type of bingo set up at VictoryLand is an easy way for Milton to rake in an extra 5,6,7 milion a year. No big deal right. Lets just wait and see who benifits more, a true charity or Miltons Charity.
